4/6/14

Today was a wonderful conference Sunday! I loved listening to the talks. Can't say which is my favorite since I need to read or watch a bunch from saturday and the half hour I slept through of the sunday afternoon session. I loved watching conference with my husband and family. There were a lot of talks that reminded me of eternal perspective and what does and doesn't matter. Most of what I worry about does not matter.

We ate a plethora of delicious foods prepared by my mother. Cinnamon rolls, fresh cut fruit, egg/potato/sausage casserole, yum!!!

After the last session we dropped my sister-in-laws present at my in-laws house and headed over to my grandparents for much needed extended family time. I got to met my cousins 2-3month old Nora. Oh my is she the littlest cutest thing ever!!! We chatted and joked and caught up on each others lives. I am pretty sure I have the best extended family in the world.

Travis and I came home and finished Frozen, which we have started, but not finished about 4 times. haha It was a really relaxing day. I am excited for the week ahead :)

4/5/13

This has been one of the more stressful weeks of my life. I worked about 50 hours a week trying to get the grant submitted. The budget was giving me the most grief. I cried twice this weekend and was mean to much husband. I was just so worried about failing at my first project you know? The good news is that around 5pm yesterday we submitted. The bad news is that we had some dates wrong on the budget (of course) so it didn't submit correctly yet. Now we have to figure out how we edit it. YAY.

In other news its conference! Conference weekend is one of the bests. I love hearing the prophet and apostles give us timely advice and counsel on what we need to do. I also love hanging out with my family in pjs and eating delicious cinnamon rolls. Also we get to see a ton of family at my grandmas tonight. I didn't get to go to the last family gathering because I was sick so I am stoked :)

We also hung out with my brother and sister-in-law chuck and brittany. We went to jdawgs with them and rode their new bikes around orem after conference. Then Travis had the priesthood session so I hung out with my mom and sister. We purchased wicked tickets for july and got pedicures, did a little shopping, and got frozen yogurt. I'd say it was a good de-stressing night.

4/4/14

It's a great day when your work takes you skiing. Not only that but you are getting paid to do it (I guess that makes me a professional skier), and get free lunch. Seriously could I have hit a bigger jackpot in the way of jobs? I think not.

For some reason I have been waking up before 8 for no reason the past 3 days. Not okay.

Anyways skiing was a blast. I mean who can complain? It was a beautiful day, sunny and not icey. Plus I got some pretty cool pics. Also, I did a black diamond, it was really short, one hill but... counting it!

Once I got to the office after skiing everything went CRAZY. UGH. this grant is never going to end.

Luckily I to home and my husbands words to me were, you are stressed? tell me all about it. He gets it. He listened and hugged me and said he knew I would figure it out. mmmm best. We watched the movie, Midnight in paris and went to the chocolate for dessert. Cazookies are a bit of heaven on earth.

We just got home and my husband is eating a pickle and cooking an artichoke. Yeah he's weird, but I love it!

4/3/14

Today was one of those days where the days goes by in a blur because everything is so busy and there is so much to do. At one point I wanted to scream. Most stressful day I have had in a long time. gah.

The day started with Travis heading off to his second internship interview (which went great by the way). and me pulling myself out of bed to start work. I knew it was gonna be crazy because yesterday we moved our final deadline up a day so that we could attend the Orca Ski Day with the rest of our coworkers. Lets be honest if the 3 of us weren't there it'd be like half the company ;)

I worked from 9-4 basically non-stop there was a little down time where I cleaned and made some lunch for me and Trav. Then my friend Michelle came over to look at my clothes I set aside to give away and I took a break from the crazy. Unfortunately my email was blowing up and I had to get back to work. I worked again until 6 when we had to leave for a party at wingers for my sister-in-laws birthday.

The party was fun and delicious. We got to see our nieces, who are always adorable. Ashlyn was going a little crazy at dinner (to be fair we were there almost 2 hours). Travis took her up to the malls quarter operated toys and got in on the fun.

Then we went to tjmaxx (I am loving that place more and more) to get Travis in on the grown up, professional athletic wear. We got him four new shirts, which means I can get rid of all his grungy free t-shirts YES!

Then we came home and I worked again till 11. I have to get up at 7:30 tomorrow for skiing (It better be worth it.

4/2/14

Today was a work day in Sandy. I got a ton done. I was working ferociously the entire time. The goal is to get everything done tomorrow by 5pm. Yikes. Friday is a Orca Ski day but not sure if I'll be able to go due to this grant.

I headed to the track to run with my megan right after work. We ran 3 miles without even blinking an eye. Megan didn't even notice we had run that far. I loved wearing my new exercise clothes. SO COMFY!!!

I made spaghetti, asparagus, smoothies, and we also had grapes and raspberries. Then we watched the movie Paranoia, it was pretty good, you should watch it, on netflix.

Tonight in the darkness after we turned the tv off travis said hey you look like a vampire in the moonlight! So that turned into a discussion about if I were a vampire, naturally. He was like, "well you don't age (which lets be real I still look exactly the same as I did 8 years ago so maybe I am a vampire) so you are going to have to change me, I don't want to be old if you are young." my response was "Okay Bella!" haha he got a shocked look on his face and while laughing said "wow I don't think there is anything else I would rather have not heard."

miles today: 3
Miles this year: 4

4/1/14

I Hate April fools. Not only do I forget every year and due to my gullibility I believe a bunch of things that aren't true. Also I never think of a prank that is funny enough to pull on someone.

Travis and I were looking at our exercise clothes the other day and realized that most of them were 5+ years old (I had a pair of sweats going on 8 years), totally gross, and typically given to us for free (you know we have only one use for all those free t-shirts). We decided it was time to get some big kid work out clothes. We are really excited about eating, and living a healthy lifestyle and this just makes it more fun, right? right!

After asking the advice of some intelligent friends, I decided to head over to Ross, Old navy, and tjmaxx. Ross was a bust, that place is always hit or miss. But I got some cute purple shorts from Old Navy (had to show the cashier the sign so that my shorts were $12 instead of $16), and a pair of long yoga pants, a long sleeved shirt and two short sleeved ones. They are all so soft and stretchy and I just love them. Plus tjmaxx prices so who can complain there?

I am planning on taking a class or two spring semester to fulfill my two credit requirement for graduation. I am thinking Zumba and Pilates. Then probably in June we are going to get Rec center passes since we loved it so much last week when we checked it out for the first time. Plus I can run outside and bike ride. Summer is delightful. Too bad spring decided to get up and leave from here. Ugh Utah. 45 degrees is not spring!

So Travis didn't get the internship we wanted so badly. and unfortunately it wasn't even the company who told him, he asked the other kid and he said they had called him and offered him the job, how lame is that? The company said they would let them know either way, but apparently not. Travis is handling the disappointment like a champ. Already has another interview lined up for this Thursday!

I was a organization nazi today. I spent an hour and a half organizing our pantry, medicine cabinet, and next up the closet. I am dominating these jobs. haha

On another note, I just want to go to Europe. My friend Martha showed me this airline that has incredible europe flight deals. I mean $600 for a roundtrip ticket?? what is that. is that even legal??

Today: 1 mile
This year: 1 mile

3/31/14

We are getting so antsy waiting to hear back on internships for Travis. We just want to know so we can move on you know?? On the plus side, he got another interview!!!

I worked all day. Its submission week so it is probly gonna be a little crazy.

When I came home I had more work to do, I did that while Travis made the most delicious pizza ever. Marinara ranch, and bbq chicken. SO good. He also made artichoke

On sunday a member of our new bishopric talked about how he had run 600 miles in the last year. He made me want to run more, and want to count all of my miles as well, so from now on I will be adding up my miles. Also now that it is getting warmer, I am going to try to get some form of physical activity everyday :)

In other news... How I met your mother is OVER. FOREVER. I was not very happy with the ending. but the hour long episode was still enjoyable and emotional.

I found out today about another exciting opportunity I may be participating in starting this summer. Its not set in stone yet, but its with a organization I love!!!

I've found a grant writing workshop I want to attend, my work is going to pay for the tuition and my grant should pay for my Travel. I AM STOKED!!! I am looking into a bunch of different areas. The highest on the list are Texas (to visit my aunt, uncle and cousins), Florida, Seattle (visit another aunt and uncle), Vegas (cheap travel), St. George (cheap travel, visit family), and Washington DC. Where should I go??
