An anniversary and a housewarming party

This weekend was such a blast.

Travis and I celebrate our anniversary on our half anniversary because Dec 28th is always filled with family and christmas. This year Travis was in charge of planning it. We went to the roof restaurant, yum and saw the age of adeline, which I had been dying to see. I can't believe we have been married for a year and a half!! Geez time flies. So much has happened in this year and a half and things just keep getting better. I am so blessed to have Travis in my life to keep me laughing all the time.

Saturday we had a housewarming party filled with friends family and lots of yummy homemade ice cream. We made chocolate, vanilla, smores and strawberry and had a topping bar! I was super surprised by how amazing it all turned out! I didn't get very many pictures during the party since we were all having a blast but did get one with my amazing friends. Megan is moving to Texas on Tuesday and I am real sad about it. Why do all my friends have to leave>?!?!

Exploring.

The best thing about moving to a new city is exploring the new area. This week we took to exploring nearby neighborhoods and parks. Daybreak's lake is a gorgeous place to walk around and just relax. I was surprised by how few people we saw out and about! I LOVE our new area!!

Weekend Shenanigans

This weekend was a blast! Friday night we chilled at home, made dinner together and such (pretty much we just want to chill at our house all the time since we are never there.)

Then Saturday we woke up bright and early to go boating with a bunch of friends (Travis lives for summer boating adventures). It was a long fun day on the water. I got more sunburned on the boat after 6 hours than I did any day in the Philippines. But I got back into wake boarding and travis showed off his skills after letting everyone else take a ride.

One scary moment. Our good friends bought their new super fancy SLR camera on the boat and a huge wave came over and drenched it. I about cried for them, but they were able to fix it by leaving it in rice for a night. Rice works miracles.

After boating we went to get some mexican food with said friends. We were starving and it really hit the spot.

Sunday we had Travis cousins farewell and a big family party at my parents house. Plus I got to wear this dress. Kind of obsessed with it. Most comfortable thing on the planet. Bought from Roolee, I follow them on instagram and when they posted it I fell in love and had to have it. Its my first maxi dress ever too!

Beach Camping in the Philippines

The major activity during our Philippines trip was a 4 day 3 night boat/beach camping trip. When Martha and I first started planning this option was quickly determined the only way to get to see the 2 major islands we were most interested in: Coron and El nido.

I was a little worried Travis wouldn't go for this because it was a vacation, but he likes adventure. When I proposed the idea, he was shocked. Shocked that I would ever consider camping on our exotic vacation. If you know me well you know that I am not a big camper. But for some reason, camping on the beach has always held a certain nostalgia for me and it seemed like a great idea.

It ended up being a highlight. Everyday we would spend 6-8 hours exploring and boating to new places. Then our guides would set up our camp, setting up the tents, making a bonfire for us, cooking us dinner. And we would just sit around the fire and relax after a long day of sun exposure and extremely tiring swimming. the craziest part, I got zero bug bites. I loved every second of it.

We saw around 20 different islands, largely because of this, and camped on basically private beaches 3 nights in a row. It was so much fun. The sunsets especially were unreal as well as the stars every night. Were we to go back to the Philippines wed probably do something else, but I am so glad we did this once, such a unique way to see the country!

Disneyland bachelorette party

What a weekend. My cute friend Xan is getting married in 3 weeks and due to the fact that she is getting married on Fathers day weekend Flights are insane $500+. So we decided since we won't be able to go to her wedding that we'd have a little bachellorette party in Disneyland instead.

Best. Idea. Ever.

We had the best day in Disney I think I have ever had (which is a big deal considering I used to live in southern california and had passes). 21 rides, no line more than 20 minutes, 15 miles walked, delicious meals, world of color, and the new electric parade made it unforgettable weekend.

I love these girls so much! So fun that we still take trips together like these. I hope we can continue to in the future!
