you've got mail!

When I was a little kid getting mail was basically the best thing on the planet. And you know whats crazy, my excitement for getting mail is basically unchanged from then to now.

Especially now that there is such a thing called, "online shopping"

I almost would rather buy things online instead of real shopping because it will come in the mail. Weird right?

When you get home from a long day at work and you see that package on your doorstep it just makes your eyes light up and you get a little hop in your step. Am I right?

At the moment I am waiting on two packages in the mail: some new fall boots and some new workout clothes. STOKED.

This makes me think I should do some kind of monthly box. Any suggestions? I also think it would be fun to start having a pen pal postcards letters whatever it sounds like a great idea.

Dreams.

Got some pretty new photos

One of my friends and her husband just started a photography business. Its something fun they can do together, which I love. Check it out here.

They graciously took some lovely photos of as at the Riverwoods. It was such a beautiful fall day! Perfect for photos.

I've never taken photos with two photographers before, so it felt a little bit like we had the paparazzi after us. Everyone needs that feeling at least once. haha

Here are some of my favorites:

A weekend update

-I've now been at Qualtrics longer than 1/5 of the company. Wow. and I have not even been here 4 months. Thats how fast we are going.

- I went to another yoga class after work on Friday and once again it kicked my butt. Man yoga is a workout. I love it.

-We went to a free neon trees concert on Friday and I finally got this boy to dance with me like no one was watching :D thanks provo and google fiber.

-Saturday We were lazy and watched LDS General Conference. I LOVED the afternoon session. Seriously every talk was firing me up. Talking about kindness when you don't agree, limiting screen time and being good parents, and how important a healthy lifestyle is to your spirituality, yes. just yes.

-In between sessions I ran 5 miles. I was supposed to run 10. oh well, next weekend.

-The shoes I bought Travis last week as a surprise came in :) he was shocked and loved them!!! Also, they are super hot so thats an extra bonus!

-After conference I headed up to Salt Lake for an event with The Shine Project at Albion Fit in City Creek. OH MY GOSH. seriously most fun event ever. I love both companies so much. I finally got to meet my boss Ashley (pictured below), sell stuff, buy beautiful Jewelry and fitness gear at an awesome discount, learned a ton about Albion from the owner, and I got paid! Plus I got to see a bunch of bloggers I follow (birdalamode, freshly picked, AH) !!! I could gush about it for hours. So fun.

-Added bonus I befriended one of the Albion workers and she gave me some free parking vouchers, saved me an extra $5, she's my new best friend.

-The spoils from my fun night at City Creek. A new necklace here and new exercise top, SOFTEST MATERIAL EVER, here

-Travis went up to Farmington with a couple of his friends to watch another of his friends fight MMA fight. All I am saying is I am glad I didn't have to go. haha but he had a blast.

- Sunday we watched LDS General conference with my family.

-During the break we went on a little hike with my family.

Miles this week:12.5
Miles this year: 180.5

There is nothing more glorious

I don't think there is anything more glorious than Gilmore Girls on netflix.

Gone are the days of waiting for a couple new episodes on CW.com. gone are the days of commercials. gone are the days of accidentally happening upon an episode on ABC Family (okay well that will probably still happen and make my day).

I can watch them whenever I WANT!!!.

AH!!! best day ever!!!!

Who else is stoked about this??

October goals

My september goals weren't super specific this month. But I feel like I did accomplish them. My one specific goal was to start liking scripture study.

Travis and I have FINALLY found something that works for us with reading scriptures HELLELUJIAH. Only taken us nine months.

This is what we do:
-Read each night before we go to bed, with the goal is to finish the Book of Mormon by the end of the year
-We follow an instagram BOM365 which posts the scriptures you need to read each day to reach this goal
-The person who is reading gets a back massage for the whole time they are reading
-The other person talks about what they liked from the scriptures read.

The most important part I think is the massage thing. haha It makes us really want to read, at least the person whose turn it is. haha

My october goals:
1. Do my visiting teaching WELL.
2. Attend yoga at least once a week (this won't be a problem)
3. Lean In to work

Yoga lover

So its official. I am yoga's biggest fan.

I started thinking about getting a yoga membership when a friend asked me if I could possibly attend a friday class around 4:30. I brushed it off saying I probably couldn't get off work that early consistently (LIE for no reason). Then after a couple weeks I was like what am I doing I an get off early and could get great use out of the lunch hour classes too.

The awesome thing is that my work just barely started offering a hugely discounted yoga pass to the same studio and it literally takes me 5 minutes to walk to from my office. SCORE.

Last friday I did my first class. It literally kicked my butt. My whole body was sore for 5 days. I can't remember the last time I was that sore. But it was incredibly satisfying. Tonight I went to another class that was much more gentle and all about relaxation (let me tell you, I need that in my life).

I keep trying to think of more classes I should try/fit in. I LOVE IT.

Yoga is going to be a great cross training activity for my half. I am seriously so in love with the classes at 3B yoga. There is so much more motivation to push myself in a class as opposed to watching a tape or something.

Also, yoga clothes are the cutest and I want to buy everything from Albion Fit. Luckily I am working and event at their store in city creek for The Shine Project on Saturday so i'll probably get some discounts!! :) seriously dream collaboration.
Namaste.

A day in the life

Fall means school for Travis and work for me. Now that Travis is in school our schedules kind of flopped a little. He used to leave way before me and get home after me, now I leave before him and usually get home after him.

My days:

7am- run
7:45- Shower
8:30 Arrive at work
12- Lunch
5:30 home/yoga class (soon I am hoping to do a class or two a week at lunch)
6- make/eat dinner
7-Activities or Netflix
10:30- bed time.

Travis’ days switch between school all day on M/W/F and Work all day T/Th
He also has some kind of sports activity a couple nights a week he is on 2 soccer teams and and flag football and sneaks in being a guest on other teams.

Its been really nice with Travis having school and work here because he has taken on way more responsibility with grocery shopping/cooking. PERKS. He usually gets home way before me so it just makes sense.

Our little life is quite fun
